I don’t know why everyone dreads turning 30. My 30s have been pretty great and I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that they’re almost over. Now don’t get me wrong, the hardest things I’ve ever experienced all happened in my 30s, so it wasn’t a perfect decade by any means. But, with those experiences (good and bad) has come confidence, wisdom and so so so many blessings.
As I am preparing to enter my last year in my 30s (this weekend, ahhhhh), I sat down to make a list of things I’d really love to check off my bucket list in the coming months. A good friend of mine had mentioned her 40 before 40 bucket list a couple years ago and it stuck with me as an idea I wanted to fulfill in my own life. I started creating my own 40 before 40 on my 38th Birthday. And when I pulled it out a couple days ago to complete the list, I realized a couple things. First, I can already cross a few items off the list! And second, I was still stuck at 21 things. It was actually really difficult for me to think of 40 things that were actually do-able in the next year. I have a lot of bucket list items, but thanks to this Dave Ramsey plan my husband has us on and just the phase of life I’m in with a preschooler still at home most days, some will just have to wait for the next decade or two.
So, in case you’re needing some inspiration and also to keep me on track, I’m sharing my list here today!
Some of these are small and simple and some will need a little bit of planning ahead or continuous effort. But, if I can accomplish all of these, I will be a really satisfied woman by this time next year. There is a little bit of everything on here - something to fill my soul, something to bring financial peace, some things just for fun and just because. I feel like it’s a pretty well rounded list! And thanks to that whole Dave Ramsey plan, I can actually cross off the very first item - that car is mine, free and clear! I also took my kids to meet their Great Grandparents last summer AND I bought that new camera.
I’d say I’m ready to kick off 39 being a step ahead;)
What’s on your bucket list friends? I’d love to hear and get some ideas for my next one! Life is meant to be joy filled - go do all the things!
